DOCTOR WHO: THE HUSBANDS OF RIVER SONG

This weekend bring us, well, Christmas. 

And with Christmas?  Some piping fresh DOCTOR WHO, via an episode entitled The Husbands of River Song. 

Husbands unites CapalidDoc with River Song (the returning Alex Kingston) for a decidedly rompy sounding adventure.  My biggest question about this one is:  a long time ago, in the Moffat-scripted Silence in the Library / Forest of the Dead, I seem to recall River mentioning having previously encountered the Doctor when he was older.  When he had ‘a face that could command an army,’ or something like that?  Thus, I’m wondering if the encounter she refers to in those episodes might refer to this encounter…and be part of some Moffaty master plan…as Husbands apparently represents her first time meeting this (decidely 'older') incarnation of the Doctor character.  ​​

As mentioned above, The Husbands of River Song is scripted by show overlord Steven Moffat.  It’s helmed by Douglas Mackinnon, who previously brought us several exceptional episodes of DOCTOR WHO, including Time Heist, Flatline, and Listen in Series/Season 8.
